CDI was formed in 2002 by the principals of Spine Partners ~Wahroonga, a leading chiropractic practice on Sydney's North Shore with one of the highest rates of medical referral and specialist collaboration in Australia. Importantly, this was achieved whilst maintaining a strong professional identity as chiropractors. A passion quickly developed for the transformative power of education to enhance the positioning and contribution of chiropractors, which led them to create CDI.

What started with small intensive workshops to build skills in inter-professional communication has not only become one of the largest and most highly respected providers of evidence-based continuing education for chiropractors in Australia, but has also gone on to achieve international recognition. CDI’s innovative online learning technology has led to formal accreditation across many states of North America, along with a growing learner base in the UK, New Zealand, Europe and South East Asia. Not only has CDI delivered face-to-face learning programs across Australia and internationally, but CDI’s extensive library of online learning programs are now assisting chiropractic doctors to work towards achieving specialist level board certification (DACO) in the United States. CDI also now provides an education pathway towards the internationally recognised DACO credential for chiropractors in Australia and New Zealand.

The spectrum of chiropractors that have participated in CDI's training programs is diverse, both in terms of areas of specialisation and technique. At any given time our enrolment includes chiropractors at all stages of their career - from new graduates, to chiropractors with over 30 years of practice experience. Having trained thousands of chiropractors we have seen a common theme underlying the continuing educational needs of the modern chiropractor – advanced diagnostic skills resting upon a strong evidence-based clinical framework. In turn, this is combined with effective communication strategies to build their professional reputation.

ACCREDITATION & RIGOUR
Preparing chiropractors
for the future
Healthcare is an ever-changing landscape, and future success hinges on effective collaboration and clear lines of communication between the different health professions. When each professional is recognised for his or her unique scope of practice, the patient’s healthcare journey is the most effective, efficient and economical. Not only that, but referral relationships are the lifeblood of a sustainable clinical practice. Interacting at this level requires an new set of skills, tools, processes and resources. This is the core capability of CDI.

In 2008, CDI underwent an extensive accreditation process to become a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). While CDI does not operate in the Vocational Education and Training Sector (as chiropractors are already highly educated to the postgraduate level), this accreditation was undertaken to ensure that CDI maintains the highest quality of training and assessment practices. In addition, achieving RTO status requires strong financial control and robust corporate governance. Through an alliance with the prestigious University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, USA, CDI provides advanced online clinical training for a Post-Graduate program in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. This exciting program provides a pathway for chiropractic resident training and board certification by the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (DACO). This credential for chiropractors is becoming the benchmark for evidence-based neuromusculoskeletal expertise. Accordingly, board certification is now a requirement for chiropractors to participate in federally qualified Health Centres in the USA.

CDI online learning programs have also been recognised by one of the largest chiropractic indemnity insurers in the United States - NCMIC insurance. Chiropractors who complete education hours with CDI receive a reduction in their risk premium. Through avenues such as these, CDI continues to focus on strongly positioning and preparing chiropractors for the future of healthcare.
